Review: SHUHUA Black8 Bluetooth Waterproof Earbuds

shuhua waterproof earbuds

Overview

Update: These are no longer available. We recommend you take a list at our wireless earbuds here to find a suitable replacement.

What we liked:

The SHUHUA earphones are built for active sports and live up to their IPX7 rating so you’ll be safe if you get caught in the rain. Officially speaking, the manufacturer states that the earbuds are safe from accidental immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

We believe they have the softest construction of Silica gel tips may take awhile to get used to, but will definitely stay in your ear and not (annoyingly) fall out.

Can I take and make calls?

Yes, the earbuds have a built in microphone. At first, you may not even notice it. But there is a hole in the middle of the right earbud. You are free to use earphones for answering and making calls.

When you receive an incoming call, hit the multifunction button while the earphones are connected.

What you will find in the box

-wireless earbuds itself (of course)
– charging cable (USB to Micro USB)
– different sizes (S/M/L) of eartips to match your ear
– instructions and manual
– clip to shorten cable
– compact carrying case

The SHUHUA Bluetooth Headphones are equipped with CVC 6.0 noise cancellation technology. One of its main purposes is for enabling clear-sounding phone conversations while suppressing background noise (such as ambient, road or other noises) digitally, which in simple words means – your conversation will be digitally filtered to reproduce a clear sounding voice.

CVC is only applied to phone conversations. Listening to music is not affected (as many marketing tricks suggest). The earbuds only isolate your ears physically providing passive noise cancellation.

Battery Life

The battery life of the 150 mAh earbuds is one of the Shuhua Earbuds’ stronger points. Playback time is up to 9 Hours, accompanying you for the full work day and then some. Once the battery is less than 30%, you will gently be reminded with “Battery Low” voice prompts.

What about the warranty?

You are secured with a 1 Year Warranty and a 30 days no-questions-asked return policy.

There have been a handful of cases of users requesting a replacement of the earphones due to some issues they noticed on Amazon, but the reports are all positive about customer service and a new set of earbuds was quickly sent as a replacement.

What we did not like:

The over-ear hooks are very soft so we worry that they may be prone to skipping a little on active jogging and intense running. This didn’t happen to us and the manufacturer has assured us that their latest models won’t skip.

Final thoughts:

It is more than worth buying this device for the price. You’re getting waterproof bluetooth headphones, good sound quality, comfort and excellent battery life.

That said, you’re picky on HD basses and extra sound is the main defining factor for your choice, you may need to go with either a wired device or a PowerBeats set of headphones (be prepared to spend beaucoup bucks however). But if you need a pair of good, battery-lasting and comfortable sport earbuds, these are the choice.

Review: SoundWhiz Turbo Bluetooth Waterproof Earbuds

Soundwhiz Waterproof Headphones

Should you Buy Them?

Design and comfort.

The SoundWhiz Turbo headphones don’t have an earth shattering design, but they have certainly risen to the occasion in order to ensure that it provides maximum comfort. The ear hooks are soft and pliable, while not being flimsy.

They are made of a soft silicon material that’s pretty bendable and the Turbo headphones have two options for wearing positions – casual fit and locked-in.

The over ear hooks won’t tightly wrap your ears during casual wear. For active sport or high activity use, the manufacturer suggests to ‘lock-in’ the earbuds by rotating them slightly (hooks to your back direction).

The package comes with both silicon and foam tips. The cord is flexible, soft and sturdy.

One other comfort note is that the earbuds can be used freely and comfortably with sunglasses, sweat bands or caps, because the over ear hooks are quite thin so no discomfort will be felt.

soundwhiz turbo headphones packaging

Sound quality (8/10).

One of the stronger benefits is the big 10mm dynamic drivers on each side to reproduce sound. They are bigger than most similarly styled and priced earbuds.

To maintain sound quality as close as possible to the source via bluetooth, the SoundWhiz earphones use aptX codec to reduce bit rate without affecting audio quality (note, that transmitting device should also support aptX codec to get the benefit of better quality. If not, the default transmission or next possible highest codec on both sides will be used).

The Headphones use Bluetooth version 4.1 together with popular supported codecs: SBC, A2DP, ACRCP, APTX for a better quality of sound transmitting and playing. Bluetooth working range is up to 10 meters (about 30 feet) when the path is clear between headphones and transmitter.

Waterproof (8/10).

The Turbo Whiz are great for running as they have a water resistance index of IPX7, which should make you feel secure as this means that you’re fully protected against sweat and rain. And it passes tests for accidental immersion as well.

So why not 10/10? Well, because they can’t be used for swimming. We’ve heard people using the IPX7 sport earphones in the swimming pool and subsequently breaking them because they’re not primarily deigned to be waterproof for swimming. The SoundWhiz headphones are not recommended for shower use either

Battery (8/10).

Earbuds are supported by 100 mAh Lithium battery giving playtime up to 9 hours, which is enough for multiple workouts or use at the office for a full day.

When the battery is running out you will hear a voice notification, but the earphones do not have a visual battery life indicator.

soundwhiz turbo features

How to charge SoundWhiz Turbo headphones

You can use the USB cable that comes included. Electric current outlet should be 1 amp or lower as is standard for most smartphone chargers or any PC USB ports).

You’ll find a small rubber flap on the bottom of the right ear bud, that opens to reveal the micro-USB connector. Connect the the cable for charging. While charging, there will be a red light flashing until battery is full.

One of the most FAQ questions before buying wireless headphones is whether you can pair them across devices – Android / iPhone X / Apple Watch? – Yes. The manufacturer states that the Soundwhiz headphones are compatible with any bluetooth device.

The Turbo has a built in microphone which allows this wireless earbud to double as a headset. Voice prompt is possible using Siri or Google Now.

Noise cancellation is passive. The earplugs will isolate your ears from surrounding sounds physically. SoundWhiz adds three black pairs of extra buds which is specifically built to isolate the sound better as well as they will fit more snugly in your ear canal. A nice feature is CVC 6.0 that filters voice during voice calls to make it more clean and clear.

Additional features

For more geeky users it’s possible to stay hands free with Siri / Svoice and Cortana integration. A beeping sound informs you of incoming calls.

What’s in the box? In the package you will find:
– earphones
– cord clip for shortening
– a robust carrying case
– USB to micro USB charging cable
– 2 different sizes of buds (transparent black-red) and 3 extra pairs of black sound isolating buds
– if buying a Pink & Silver set, for few dollars they add an additional Small pair of buds and X-Small pair for people who have really small ear canals.

What are we worried about:

Bass lovers said it can be a bit boomy. But it’s ok, as these are a sport earbuds and not a $200 buy. Also, it is possible to do EQing in the player.

Review: SENSO ActivBuds S-250 Bluetooth Waterproof Earbuds

Senso-Wireless-Earphones

Our Overview

Why should you by:

This device is a #1 Best Seller in Bluetooth Cell Phone Headsets and has more than 30k reviews. The current price is incredibly low for the sound quality, durability, and overall quality that the Senso headphones have so it’s an amazing value.

We would give it a plus for extra Bass, though some users would like to be able to turn it off without using phone’s / player’s equalizer). The construction and design is very practical as well.

For the price, you get a good set of additional items such as an extra dual lighting/micro USB cable and a car charger.

Let’s go through a more detailed look of SENSO ActivBuds S-250 sport earphones.

SENSO ActivBuds S-250 Bluetooth Waterproof Earbuds Review

senso wireless headphone feature details

Style and feel.

On first look, the Senso earbuds have a pretty stylish look. How well do they holdup during workouts? The ear hooks do not have a ‘lock-in’ position, but one of three pairs of provided earbuds will fit securely into you ear canal and will hold the earphones firmly in place. in other words, they won’t fall out.

And for added measure, the over ear hooks will keep your earbuds more secure as is customary for sport headphones.

Battery (8/10).

The Senso sport headphones have a good battery (Lithium-ion Polymer 85mAh) that will support your active lifestyle for up to 8 hours of stated music playback. In practice, it would be around 6-7 hours of active listening. There’s also a dual Port USB Car Charger included as well, which is useful if you forget to charge your device at home.

When do I need to charge the Activebuds S-250?

When the battery runs out you’ll be notified via a voice prompt in your earbuds. Also, a red light will blink on the right side of the earbuds. A nice small feature is that you can also monitor battery life on a paired mobile device screen.

How to pair Senso earbuds for the first time

You should hold the the logo on the right earbuds, which is a multifunction button, for 5 seconds, turn on the bluetooth on your phone or other device and in the search list of available devices you should see the Senso earphones displayed and available to connect.

The Waterproof rating is IPX7.

This is a good choice for sport earbuds as IPX7 rated materials will fully protect the device from sweat and unexpected rain. Can you swim with the Senso Activebuds? Well, no. IPX7 can secure against accidental immersion in water for up to 30 minutes plus rain sweat etc…, but it’s not sufficient for extended immersion in water – such as when swimming.

senso bluetooth headphones in ear closeup

Sound quality

Clear and full sound. The Sound quality for the price is quite nice, much better than one would expect. The Basses are full, the mids loud and clear, and the highs wont hurt your ears either.

Aside: You can factory reset the earphones by pressing the power button for 7 seconds if needed. While the earbuds won’t reproduce the full audio spectrum perfectly as many manufacturers claim, the Senso is still perfect for active sport and good enough for all but the most discerning audiophiles.

Bluetooth.

Senso wireless earphones have built in Bluetooth v4.1 together with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) which was first introduced with bluetooth 2.0 for a faster data transfer and lower power consumption.

Working distance is about 20-30 feet (~10 meters). And as for all bluetooth devices, an empty path between the bluetooth device and the earbuds is ideal. Minimize obstructions if possible.

Controls and functions.

On the right piece there is a large multifunction button – on the side with the logo on it – for pause, play, turning the headphones on/off.

On the same right earpiece you’ll find two smaller buttons on top for adjusting volume or skipping tracks. To skip a track forward or backwards, press and hold the appropriate volume button.

What’s in the box?

In the package you will find:
– Bluetooth earphones
– a round firm case for carrying
– clip for shortening cord
– short USB to Micro USB charging cable
– a dual lighting/micro USB cable (for android and iPhone)
– car charger
– 3 pairs of buds for different sizes of ear – Small, Medium, Large
– User Manual

Additional features.

Comfort. They fit snug and you can wear the Senso Activebuds earbuds with sunglasses. No “cord noise” is heard while running a few miles. The device is amazingly light comparing to other wireless bluetooth headphones of a similar price.

senso headphone case

Noise cancellation:

Senso Bluetooth headphones are noise isolating earbuds, but not noise cancelling. They don’t have active noise cancellation as it is technologically harder to implement in earbuds, and not cost effective for the price of Senso ActivBuds. So you’ll still be able to hear outside noise, which I actually prefer because I like being aware of my surroundings

Phone conversation quality is good but not great – they have CVC 6.0 noise reduction technology to keep voices clear.

What we’re worried about:

– The sound quality of calls isn’t great when outside in a windy environment. That said, pretty much all windy conversations suck.
– For people who sweat more in active workouts, there’s a chance that the over ear hooks can become a bit loose during extended workouts.

Bottom line(update): The numbers speak for themselves. These inexpensive earbuds have over 30K positive reviews on Amazon for a reason. If you can afford it, then you can shell out for some expensive headphones, but you’ll be more than happy with these Senso earbuds.

Review: Best Water Resistant Headphones for Running in the Rain and Intense Workouts

best wireless water resistant headphones for running

Have you ever been concerned about whether your headphones can handle rain or maybe even intense sweat during a workout? Well worry no more, it’s pretty simple to ensure that your headphones will not break, we’ll tell you what to look for.

One of the key factors is the Index IPX[0-8] showing – it details how much water your headphones can handle. You can also check out the IPX Indexes table with detailed descriptions here.

A few things to keep in mind when choosing the best Bluetooth headphones

Type of Headphones Reviewed: Workout Headphones

The Best Water Resistant Headphones were selected according to the following criteria:

Price

We looked at headphones in every budget range. If you’re paying a lot, you would expect to receive headphones with a host of features, functionality and design. Conversely, we’ll tell you which headphones offer the most bang for your buck.

Water & Sweat Resistance

Will you be immersing your headphones underwater or simply want them to withstand sweat and rain while running? If it’s the former, you’ll need in ear headphones to block out the water.

Are the headphones fully waterproof and suitable for swimming or are they good enough to

Features

When considering active workouts and possible (heavy) rain, we recommend headphones with an IPX7 water resistance level. Other attributes such as heavy bass, comfort, controls, battery life etc… can then be examined more closely.

Wireless vs Wired

While almost all of the below earbuds are wireless, the underwater earbuds we reviewed are indeed wired. If you’re worried about wires getting in the way of your workout, you’ll want to check out the first seven wireless headphones reviewed.

So without further ado…

10 Best Water Resistant Headphones

1. Best Overall Value: SENSO Bluetooth Headphones

senso wireless earbuds

The Senso Wireless headphones are #1 on our list because they provide the best value of any headphones on the market as evidenced by the 30K+reviews on Amazon. They are comfortable, lightweight, offer great sound all for around $20!

Design: 9/10

They have a slim fit and lightweight design with lock in earbuds to ensure a snug fit. They are also one of the few models we reviewed that can fit comfortably alongside the tips of eyeglasses on the ears.

Battery: 9/10

They provide 8 hours of playback time, which should be more than enough for most users.

Water Resistance: 9/10

These Senso earbuds have an IPX7 rating, meaning they’re not quite built for swimming, but they’re good enough to withstand sweat, rain, and even submersion in up to 3 feet of water.

Sound: 8/10

They sound great. The mids are clear and they actually have a bit of a punchy bass as well. The only slight drawback is that the EQ sound levels (low, mid, highs) cant be adjusted with in app sound controls that some of the higher end models offer.

Bottom line

If you’re looking for high quality earbuds at an affordable price, you can’t go wrong with these Senso Bluetooth earbuds. You can read our full review here.

2) Sennheiser CX 680 Wireless Headphones

Sennheiser CX 680

Design: 8/10

These lightweight (15g) Adidas-designed Sennheiser Earbuds are engineered for performance, security, and comfort so that the earbuds won’t fall out during even the most intense workouts.

It comes with several sizes of earbuds to ensure a snug and comfortable fit that will enhance the sound quality and comfort level as well. The cabling is made of Dupont Kevlar to ensure durability as well as flexibility.

These are NOT wireless headphones. They are wired and have a standard 1/8 plug compatible with any number of devices and all iPhone, Android devices.

Battery life: 7/10

Up to 6 hours, which is more than enough for running or for an intense workout, but may not be ideal for long distance runners or for those who need all day battery support.

Water Resistance: 8/10

The CX 680 headphones are sweat-proof and water resistant such that they will hold up in the rain.

Sound (9/10)

Sennheiser is known for making high quality headphones with excellent sound and these waterproof headphones are no exception. Noise cancellation is solid as It blocks out up to 20db of outside noise, while providing high quality bass-heavy stereo sound

3) Plantronics BackBeat Fit

plantronics Backbeat Fit bluetooth

Design: 8/10

A favorite amongst runners, the Backbeat Fit is designed to provide comfort, security and an open tip design that allows you to maintain awareness of your surroundings. The flip side is that they are obviously not good for noise cancellation.

Water resistance: 7/10

It comes with an IP57 rating so it is sweatproof, and waterproof to the point of being able to withstand the rain, drops in puddles of water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

It has on ear controls to allow for adjustment of the volume, track navigation, and answering phone calls.

Battery: 8/10

Up to 8 hours playback, perfect for long distance runners. Even better, they charge in only 15 minutes!

Bottom line

They’re waterproof, come in a variety of different colors, and are affordable for most consumers as well.

4) Beats by Dre – Powerbeats Wireless 3 Headphones

PowerBeats Wireless 3

Design: 9/10

These are a popular model of PowerBeats Wireless Headphones. Note, these are not the truly wireless earbuds designed as an (arguably) better version of the ubiquitous Apple Airpods.

They are comfortable and lightweight (only 1.06oz) with a snug fit to ensure crisp, clean rich, bass-heavy sound.

Battery: 10/10

The strongest battery life on this list providing up to 12 hours of playback. With its Fast Fuel Charge capability, you can get up to an hour of playback in only 5 minutes, which is great if you are short on time and need to start your workout in a hurry.

Sound: 9/10

For people that are biased towards bass heavy and punchy sound, Beats headphones do the trick. Not to mention the clear and crisp mids and highs.

Bottom Line

In typical Apple (Beats is owned by Apple) form, they come with a high price tag, but given the seamless Bluetooth pairing process with extended range facilitated by the Apple W1 chip, amazing sound quality, extended battery life, and overall comfort, it’s understandable.

5) Bose SoundSport Pulse Wireless Headphones

bose soundsport wireless headphones

The Bose Soundsport Pulse wireless headphones offer a high degree of comfort, a heart rate monitor, and excellent sound quality. These are pricey headphones that are a slight variation from the popular Bose Soundsport Wireless headphones. The difference is that the Pulse can be used with an app.

Design: 8/10

They are equipped with silicone eartips to ensure a snug fit so that they won’t fall out during intense workouts and they are very lightweight to boot. The downside is that they don’t go very deep into your ear as they stick out more than most earbuds.

They’re not great for noise cancellation, which can be good if you want to maintain awareness of your surroundings, but bad if you want to block out gym noise for example.

They have controls on the wiring that goes around the neck that allow for playback control but the feedback was a bit delayed so it’s certainly not the best. and can be used with the Soundsport wireless app (and others) to monitor your heart rate.

Water Resistance: 7/10

They are waterproof and can withstand most intense workouts and heavy sweat and rain, but they are not IPX certified so don’t wear them poolside, in the shower, or in heavy rain.

The Bluetooth connectivity is solid. It comes with NFC pairing, and has a solid built in microphone allowing for clear phone calls with no background noise.

Sound: 9/10

Excellent – as with all Bose products. Slightly bass heavy but at as much as the Beats earbuds – good for the average consumer.

Battery: 7/10

Only 5 hours here – 1 hour off a 15 minute charge. Good enough for a typical workout but not as good as the aforementioned models that have 8 and 12 hour battery life.

Bottom line

The Bose SoundsPort Wireless headphones are comfortable, can be used with an app, and have solid sound quality, but aren’t great for those who need high water resistance levels and strong battery life.

6) Jaybird X4 Wireless Headphones

jaybird-x4-sport-bluetooth-earbuds

The Jaybird X4 wireless headphones, an updated version of the X3 headphones, offer excellent sound quality, a comfortable fit, and solid water resistance with an IPX7 rating that can withstand any weather condition and/or intense sweaty workouts.

Design: 9/10

With thermos-reactive memory foam tips that conform to the shape of your ear, the Jaybird earbuds are guaranteed to offer a fantastic fit with crisp, clear sound, noise cancellation, and a secure fit.

Battery: 8/10

Solid up to 8 hours of playback time. The only downside is that the charging cable is unique to the Jaybird X4 so a standard micro-USB cable can’t be used in case you lose the cable.

Sound: 9/10

They sound great out of the box as they are a bit bass heavy. But even better, they offer the ability to adjust the EQ to control the Bass, mid and treble so that you can adjust the sound to your own personal liking via their app.

7) Monster iSport Victory In EarBluetooth Headphones

Monster iSport Victory In EarBluetooth Headphones

If you’re looking for good quality Bluetooth headphones on a budget with strong (10 hour ) battery life, then the Monster Victory headphones are a solid choice.

They may not have all the bells and whistles of other Bluetooth headphones, such as heart rate monitors and 3rd party app compatibility, but they have on ear controls, and decent sound quality.

Design: 8/10

They won’t fall out as they are equipped with rubber wings and come with a wide selection of eartip sizes. They weigh only 15g so they are lightweight as well.

Battery: 10/10

The big selling point is their battery life. 10 hours provides all day playback to get you through an entire workday and then some.

Bottom line

We still prefer the Senso wireless headphones if you’re looking for excellent earbuds on a budget, but these area solid choice as well.

Update: After a slew of negative reviews on Amazon, we no longer recommend these.

Wired Headphones Built for Swimming

8) Pyle PWPE 10B

PWPE 10B Headphones

Another solid choice for those looking for budget friendly headphones with full waterproof design is the Pyle PWPE 10B headphones.

Design: 8/10

They feature a slim all black design with a number of different size earbuds to ensure a snug fit. They are airtight to ensure that they maintain good sound quality for underwater usage.

That said, these are not wireless. They have a 4 foot cord that should help, but if you’re looking for true wireless design to ensure that wires won’t get in your way, then these may not be the best option.

Water Resistance: 10/10

Again, they have an IP7 rating so they can be used underwater for several hours.

Bottom line

Best for those on a budget who need true underwater protection.

9) Underwater Audio Swimbuds

Underwater Audio Swimbuds

These are also designed to be used underwater and feature a short 10 in. cord so that it stays out of your way when swimming.

Design: 7/10

Pretty basic but they are durable and can withstand use in the sauna, washing machine usage and every imaginable swim routine.

The aforementioned short cord can be extended with the free extension cord. It also comes with 4 earbud tip sizes to ensure comfort and the best sound quality.

To be clear, these are not Bluetooth enabled so you’ll need a waterproof audio player.

Bottom line

For swimmers who need durability and full waterproof design that has held up over several years, according to some reviewers, the Swimbuds are for you.

10) On-ear Style: 66 Audio BTS Pro

66 Audio Wireless Headphones

These sweat resistant headphones provide excellent battery life, a high degree of comfort and good sound quality.

Design: 7/10 (for over ear)

Unlike, many of the previously mentioned models on this list, the 66 Audio BTS headphones have an over-the-ear design. They are still great for running because their ear-hook design ensures a stable fit, while allowing for awareness while running in traffic.

The downside is that they are not good for noise cancellation and they may become uncomfortable after extended use due the pressure they apply to your ears.

Water Resistance: 7/10

They are fully sweatproof but not quite as water resistant as some aforementioned models.

Battery: 10/10

This is the kicker – it has 40 hours of battery life! In other words, you could potentially go all week without having to charge them.

Bonus Features: 10/10

Unlike most wireless headphones that offer about 30 feet of connectivity, the 66 Audio’s wireless range is up to 100 feet, allowing you to use the headphones extremely far away from your device should the need arise.

Sound: 8/10

They provide solid sound that can be adjusted with an equalizer app so that you can customize, the lows, mids and highs according to your preferences.

Bottom line: Good overall value in a functional design and very impressive battery life. Good value at under $100 but some people may be turned off by its heavier (83g) weight.

Review: XY Sport Glowing Earbuds

The glowy ones. For sure these XY sport earphones have a distinctive look which will be noticed by everyone around you. Glowing cable in the dark shines synchronously with your music or a ring tone. A standard 3.5mm plug will fit to mostly to any audio devices including your laptop, phone or speakers.

XY is built for casual use as much as sport activity. As a sport earbuds (you get 1 set of sport ear hooks), these do not have an IPX rating, stating a level of water resistance. We would not try to swim of use it in the shower, but for active workouts or light rain – for sure.

Glowing earphones fits for all of your casual activities, such as trips, walks, office work or chores. Built-in microphone and controls makes life easier also. You can choose from two different colors: light blue and golden.

What is the price for the style? The price is a battery and a charging cable. Though, earphones have a standard 3,5mm cable, battery is used for the glowing cable. Battery is placed in peace where microphone and controls are.

Review: Decibullz – Custom Molded Bluetooth Earbuds

decibullz-specs

Decibullz earbuds are a game changer for secure and comfortable fit that stays fixed to the shape of your ears uniquely. Earpieces can and should be molded according your own shape of the ear.

The whole process takes less than five minutes. Just heat the earpieces in the water and put in your ears to mold it according your ear shape. If you are not happy with the result first time, you can repeat the process multiple times.

What about the earbuds and quality? Here’s two most important factors: comfort fit and and sound quality. comfort and unique fit with amazing sound isolation is a double win for this product.

On the other side – sound quality is “OK”. Voice calls and audio books works great, but you would feel a lack of basses and full spectrum of music sound.

Decibullz also offers custom fit wired earbuds that fit the same thermo-fit earpiece and come with standard 3.5mm plug for a lower price than wireless ones.

To sum up, if comfort, unique fit and style is the priority to you, these Decibullz bluetooth earbuds are hard to beat. Earbuds are amazing on sound isolation and accompanying during workouts. Though, sound quality is good, but not amazing for the price.

Review: Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones

bose soundsport wireless headphones

Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones are stylish and comfortable piece of equipment. There are three main areas of satisfaction with this product: a manufacturer and name, sound quality and comfort for music and lastly, a wireless feature for an active lifestyle.

Main specifications are quite decent. Sweat resistance will help you enjoy every moment of your active day at gym, while running or in the long active walk.

You are backed-up with the unique shape of tips that will create a gentle seal in you ears. For this reason, Bose wireless earbuds will stay in with a level of comfort without distracting you from your loved active lifestyle.

Review: TREBLAB X2 – Revolutionary Bluetooth Earbuds

treblab X2 headphones

The Treblab X2 earbuds were a revolution in wireless earphones when they first came out. They were one of the few manufacturers that offered truly wireless earbuds; this design without any cables was a real advantage over other bluetooth earphones with a cable over the neck.

treblab X2 headphones

Battery

What isn’t outwardly visible but amazing nonetheless – the beryllium speakers that reproduce the HD and three-dimensional sound. Crisp treble is guaranteed, basses are good also. The maximum output of sound is 60db. It is quite loud.

Design

Comfort and secure fit is supplied by three different sizes of ear-fins (inner hooks, that hold inside your ear) and different sizes of special sound isolation eartips.

Comfortable charging of TREBLAB X2 is done simply by inserting earpieces to the charging dock, which later can be connected to adapter or laptop via USB cable. Earbuds’ battery has up to 5 hours of play time.

A portable charging dock will give you 5 extra hours of playtime. The doc will support you with one full charge.

What’s is interesting, these earbuds can be used separately what gives you a potential extra work time up to 10 hours.

treblab x2 packaging

What’s the quality of Phone Conversations?

Quality of phone conversations is OK. But one thing you will notice quite soon – only one earbud is active in conversation. This is normal functionality.

The manufacturer does not plan to enable second one for the phone calls for this specific model of earphones – onlythe right one, where microphone is located. You will be notified of incoming calls with an industry standard audible beep.

What about the warranty?

The Seller provides a lifetime warranty which covers manufacturing defects (one replacement is possible).

Can I take a shower with these earbuds?

Jogging, sweating and light rain will not cause any troubles for you since the earphones have IPX4 water resistance rating. But they are not built for taking a shower or swimming.

Bottom line: If you want truly wireless earbuds without paying an arm and a leg for Beats or Airpods, grab these X2 earbuds.

TVs are getting slimmer and slimmer. The only problem is that usually, the slimmer the TV, the worse the sound. What’s the point of having a sleek and modern TV if the sound quality is average at best?

Enter Soundbars. Hear those movie soundtracks & effects, TV shows, music and sports the way they were meant to be heard. Soundbars give you excellent audio and fit in nicely with any living room setup as most of them are incredibly slim and come with wireless speakers, saving you the hassle of setting up an expensive home theater system.

    Soundbars with Subwoofers

You need bass. In order to feel the full effect of movies, sports and music, you need a separate subwoofer to deliver full bass to complement the soundbar that will deliver your mids and highs.

Bass needs room. Some soundbars have built in subwoofers, and a few of them are actually good. But many people agree that you need a separate standalone subwoofer because you need big speaker drivers to deliver quality low end sound.

The good thing is that the subwoofer can be placed pretty much anywhere as most bass is non directional and doesn’t require proper acoustics. The subwoofer will automatically sync with your soundbar wirelessly so setup is a breeze – simply plug the subwoofer into a power outlet.

Many soundbars even have Bluetooth, allowing you to sync with your phone or computer for music as well.

Best Soundbar under 200 – Cheap / Inexpensive Soundbars

    Vizio SB3621 Soundbar & Subwoofer

vizio SB3821 soundbar with wireless subwoofer

Vizio is known for making highly affordable electronics and the 2.1 channel SB3621 soundbar is no exception. Sure, you might have to sacrifice a few features that come with higher priced soundbars such as HDMI inputs (to connect to the TV’s sound) and a separate subwoofer.

But it does have 3.5mm and optical cable inputs, and most importantly supports Bluetooth for music playback from your favorite devices and you won’t find a better value soundbar given the solid audio performance of the Vizio.

As for downsides, the side display indicator lights are a bit confusing so he sure to read up on them in the manual, and though the audio is great, it isn’t true surround sound. Still, a great value.

Polk magnify mini Soundbar – Best for Small Spaces

Polk Audio MagniFi Mini Sound Bar

This small soundbar takes up very little space but packs a powerful punch. It conveniently fits into any space, be it a large house or small apartment, and most importantly, it sounds great.

It comes with a separate wireless subwoofer to deliver booming deep bass, and the midrange and highs are crisp as they are powered by four 2.25 drivers and two half in. tweeters.

Not only will movies sound great, but you can of course play music via Bluetooth or use the built-in Google Chromecast for streaming across several rooms as well. Moreover, it comes with Google Home for those who want voice control.

Thanks to its SDA technology, regardless whether you’re listening to pop, hip hop, jazz, or watching the latest Avengers movie, this small soundbar delivers grumbling bass as well as complex sound effects beautifully.

Bottom line, this is an Amazon’s choice and favorite amongst both users and critics due to its great performance at an affordable price point.

Polk Audio Signa S1 Soundbar – Affordable Soundbar

    polk audio signa s1 soundbar

This is another 2.1 channel soundbar that offers Bluetooth connectivity, and a separate wireless subwoofer, but no HDMI support (it does have an optical input however).

It delivers balanced and clean surround sound audio to help deliver a wider sound, and perhaps most importantly, it is the lowest price soundbar we could find so it’s a great value.

    Best Soundbar under 300

    Q acoustics M4 Soundbar – Best Value

Q Acoustics M4 Soundbar with Built in Subwoofer

This 2.1 channel soundbar is another surprise performer. It sounds great without breaking the bank. It too can be used for both movies and music and it does an impressive job on both.

Of course, there’s an included wireless subwoofer to help deliver the low end bass we all require from our favorite movies. The difference is that this subwoofer is built in. We prefer standalone subwoofers as they then have more space to accommodate the larger drivers that bass requires.

That said, the Q Acoustics  soundbar still did a pretty good job of reproducing the low end and it does support the addition of another wireless subwoofer should you so choose. But it seems a bit redundant.

Downsides: On the design front, it’s pretty…boring looking and clunky, particularly compared to the aforementioned Polk Mini. Another downside, there’s no HDMI input for advanced connections and there’s no wifi support (though you can connect your music via Bluetooth).

Bottom line, music and movies sound really, really good and the price point is not bad either. A worthwhile consideration.

Polk Audio Command Bar – Popular Choice

Polk Audio Command Sound Bar with Hands-free Amazon Alexa Voice

This is a popular and good value2.1 channel soundbar with a sleek design that offers a lot of bang for the buck.

It offers voice control via Alexa (it comes with a standard remote as well), accommodates a Firestick, an HDMI input, has Bluetooth connectivity for music playback and a separate wireless 6.5”  subwoofer.

It offers well balanced and full crisp sound, but perhaps not quite as good as some of the other soundbars on this list. Moreover, there isn’t support for connectivity to additional speakers.

Bottom line, this is a popular model so we had to include it on this list, but the aforementioned issues and 3.5 star Amazon rating may give some users pause.

    Best Soundbar under 500

Yamaha MusicCast Bar 400 – Most Versatile

    Yamaha-MusicCast-BAR-400-Sound-Bar-with-Wireless-Subwoofer-and-Alexa-Connectivity

This 2.1 channel soundbar is loaded with features as it offers a wealth of connectivity: Spotify Connect compatibility, wifi, Bluetooth, aux, optical, HDMI, multi-rooming streaming via MusicCast, and Alexa support for voice control.

There’s the option to customize this soundbar by adding additional speakers to make it a 5.1 setup by adding MusicCast 20 or 50 speakers.

More importantly, it sounds great. It comes with a 100 watt wireless subwoofer that is also adjustable to please every listener depending on their preference for bass levels. The mids and the highs are crisp as well. The only slight downside is that the EQ levels can’t be customized precisely as the soundbar only offers various sound modes.

Still, this is an Amazon’s choice and a highly customizable soundbar with the ability to either opt for either the base configuration or one with 2 additional speakers should you so decide further down the line.

JBL Bar 3.1 Soundbar – For Bass Lovers

    JBL-Bar-3.1-Channel-4K-Ultra-HD-Soundbar-with-10”-Wireless-Suboofer

This is a great soundbar for bass lovers. It has a big 10” wireless subwoofer that pumps some serious (adjustable) low end bass, while simultaneously delivering precise and crisp mids and highs.

It has a whopping 3 HDMI inputs (1 HDMI out as well), Bluetooth connectivity for connecting your smart devices, and JBL’s movie-famous Dolby Digital technology.

It also has detachable wireless surround speakers that offer up to 10 hours of rechargeable battery play so though this may not be the complete 5.1 surround sound experience, it’s still pretty good.

    Best Premium Soundbar

    Samsung HW-N950 Soundbar

Samsung HW-N950 Soundbar with Dolby Atmos 2

This is the last soundbar on this list for a reason. There are a whopping 18 speakers in all between the soundbar, two wireless rear speakers and the subwoofer on this impressive 7.1 channel soundbar that delivers true surround sound.

Take a look at all of the included features: breathtaking DTS:X & Dolby Atmos sound, optical & HDMI input, wifi and Bluetooth connectivity for music playback and a wireless subwoofer that delivers earth-shattering bass.

The sound is widely agreed to be phenomenal as it offers 3D sound immersion deliver crisp and clear detail in the mids and highs with excellent bass, taking your movie viewing to another level.

The only downside is for those who require voice control & connectivity to their Alexa  apps.

Bottom line, this soundbar will fill up any room with amazing audio that’s perfect for music and movies, but it may be far too pricey for the average user who just needs a basic soundbar so other options may be a better fit.

Review: BlueFit M2 Bluetooth Earbuds

Our Overview

bluefit m2 earphones

What we liked:
Bottom line, these BlueFit bluetooth earbuds have great features for an incredibly low price.

Battery life (9/10).

The BlueFit earbuds have an extra large battery of 180 mAh that results in a maximum playback time of up to 12h and stand by time of 400 hours. It lasts for the full work day in addition to your back and forth commute. What more could you ask for?

It is charged in about two hours. When the device is paired with the phone, you can monitor the battery status of the earphones onscreen. Near the top of the screen you can see battery level as being either high, medium or low. Whenever the battery is close to draining out, you also will hear an audio alert.

Be advised that it is not recommended to leave the earphones charging overnight what can reduce lifetime of a battery.

Waterproof (7/10).

As one of our important requirements is that they’re suitable for an active lifestyle, how good would earbuds be if they were not waterproof ?So how good are these earphones in terms of water resistance? Well, not bad, actually.

As most good sport headphones, these are fully sweatproof. Manufacturer has tested them and have put under water for 30 minutes and they still work well. But these are not recommended to use for swimming. So, BlueFit would take care of your intense workout at the gym for example or for running, but not for impersonating Michael Phelps.

Unexpected rain is not an issue also if you are out jogging, because the earbuds are IPX7 sweat-proof and waterproof.

Technology

BlueFit M2 earphones use a bluetooth v4.1 technology to connect to other bluetooth devices such as Apple, Android phones or other devices supporting this kind of connection. The distance of connection is up to 30 feet (10 meters), but no objects should be in between to minimize interference. Can you pair these to two devices at once? No, not these.

To pair your headphones with a bluetooth device you should press and hold middle button for few seconds to make it visible and available for connection in the bluetooth menu on your phone.

When earphones are on and open for connection, they will flash red and blue. Once they are connected with your phone, you will notice only the blue light blinking every seven seconds or so.

Noise Cancellation

The Bluefit M2 earbuds are also equipped with CVC 6.0 noise cancellation. It’s passive cancellation (not active), but it helps to support clear voice conversations and reduces noise from the outside. But you would be a little disappointed if expecting high level noise reduction from surroundings.

Controls and functions.

These earbuds also have controls to answer calls, control the volume, in addition to skip, pause and play tracks. This means you don’t have to pull your device out in the middle of an enthusiastic run.

Sound quality

While it’s good and above our expectations for this price point, true sound connoisseurs would be a bit disappointed. But then you would have to spend a to more to get top notch sound quality.

If you want to get the best basses, you should keep earbuds deep in your ears. But during running and other actions it is not possible. So basses are satisfactory for active use and quite good for still listening. While in conversation, we did not find mute functionality included with controls.

What’s in the box? In the package you’ll get:
– earphones itself
– carrying bag
– USB to micro USB charging cable
– 3 different sizes of earpieces
– manual

What we didn’t like:
– Description claiming CVC 6.0 noise cancellation that would lead the reader to believe that it has active noise cancellation, which is not true. It is passive with CVC 6.0 feature.

– While examining user reviews across several platforms, there were a few complaints of faulty earphones. Of course they were swiftly replaced by the manufacturer without issue.
